The City of Plainview is committed to the health and safety of our community. Following the Disaster Declaration regarding the COVID-19 public health disaster, the City of Plainview utilities will suspend utility service disconnects for non-payment to assist customers who may be experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19 or its economic impacts. The action goes into effect immediately until further notice.
The City strongly encourages customers to stay current on their bills but we understand the financial strain this may have on customers and the importance of uninterrupted access to utility services. Customers impacted by COVID-19 can setup payment arrangements with the City.
It should be noted that any outstanding balance on a water bill is still due, but water service will not be disconnected due to nonpayment until the disaster declaration is lifted.
This temporary change in policy is in direct relation to enhanced personal hygiene recommendations by the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
As always, remember to wash your hands, practice social distancing and if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, contact your physician.
