Lighted Window Contest Winners

Downtown Plainview will kick off the The Music of Christmas Holiday Celebration on Friday, November 11th from 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. around the Courthouse Square (500 Broadway).

The event will begin with the Tree Lighting Ceremony featuring a tribute to local veterans, announcement of winners for the Lighted Window Contest and the lighting of the Christmas Trees on the Courthouse Square.

After the Ceremony, there will be many scheduled activities around the Courthouse including carriage rides, food trucks, as well as fun activities for the kids (known as Elf Stops) and a Santa Mail Stop, with supplies for kids to write letters and mail to Santa. Several choir groups will also be on hand to sing holiday classics and merchants will be open for shopping. Lastly, several special features will be installed around downtown for the public to enjoy.

All events are free and the public is encouraged to attend.

The following day, Saturday, November 12th, the Downtown Holiday Open House will kick off from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. This November 2nd Saturday is sponsored by Hello Baby – Santa Clause will make an appearance at Hello Baby (509 Broadway), and merchants will display merchandise for the holiday season.

December events kick off with the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade on Thursday, December 1st at 6:30 p.m. The parade will begin at 2nd & Broadway and conclude at the 11th & Broadway. For more information or a parade entry form, contact the Chamber of Commerce at 806.296.7431.

December 2nd Saturday will be held on Saturday, December 10th, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The December 2nd Saturday sponsor is The Rusty Rose, and the day includes a hot chocolate bar at The Rusty Rose (707 Broadway), Gift Wrapping at the Fair Theater and Christmas Cocktails at participating merchants.

The purpose of the Downtown Plainview Holiday Celebrations is to encourage everyone to visit and shop downtown during the holiday season. Events will be scheduled for November and December 2nd Saturday weekends for participants convenience.
