The Plainview Safe program will provide hand sanitizing products and masks to small businesses and local events for their employees and customers in an effort to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in the community.  The Plainview-Hale County Health Department and Chamber of Commerce will be reaching out to small businesses eligible for this program.

It is strongly advised to wear a mask while in public, practice social distancing and limit unnecessary travel.

In partnership with the City of Plainview, South Plains Association of Governments, Plainview Chamber of Commerce and the Plainview / Hale County Economic Development Corporation, the funds are provided through a grant from the Texas Department of Emergency Management for monies made available by the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act through an allocation distributed through the State of Texas by the Treasury Department. Monies may be used for medical expenses, public health expenses and other ways consistent with the Treasury guidelines.
