Plainview Organizations partner to provide Plainview CARES Small Business Relief Fund

The Plainview CARES Small Business Relief Fund is available to small businesses in Plainview that have been impacted by the COVID-19 situation.

Grants are available to businesses who have been in operation for at least one year, are located in the Plainview city limits and been impacted by COVID-19. Monies may be used for overhead operations, payroll, rent, short-term uses of cash for business operations, utilities or inventory necessary for continued operations.

Funding tiers for businesses are based on Annual Gross Revenue. Funding tiers are $100K or less – eligible for $2,500, $100 to $250K – eligible for $5,000, $250K to $500K – eligible for $10,000 and $500K or more – eligible for $20,000.

To apply, visit www.plainviewtx.org and click on Plainview CARES Small Business Relief Fund. Applicants will submit a copy of their current personal and 2019 business property taxes as well as the application. The funds will be administered as s first come, first complete application and reviewed by a local committee for approval.

To assist business applicants, the South Plains Association of Governments (SPAG) will offer a webinar detailing the application process Tuesday, July 7th at 9:00 a.m. The link to sign up for the webinar is located on the City’s website – www.plainviewtx.org. Applicants are also welcome to join staff at the Fair Theater (717 Broadway) to watch the webinar or it will be available afterwards for applicants to watch if they were unable to make the live webinar.

In partnership with the City of Plainview, South Plains Association of Governments, Plainview Chamber of Commerce and the Plainview / Hale County Economic Development Corporation, the funds are provided through a grant from the Texas Department of Emergency Management for monies made available by the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act through an allocation distributed through the State of Texas by the Treasury Department. Monies may be used for medical expenses, public health expenses and other ways consistent with the Treasury guidelines.
