During this phase, Yonkers Street from 6th Street to 7th Street will be closed beginning on Monday, July 27th.

The street is scheduled to be blocked on Monday and reopened at the end of the day. If unforeseen circumstances arise, the street will be closed through Tuesday, July 28th.

The second phase of the project will include 7th Street, Yonkers, Vernon, Xenia and Wayland Streets. This project will begin on Monday, July 27th and is estimated to be completed in September.

Certain streets and areas will be closed during this time. Please avoid this area if possible and use caution if in the area.

The project includes disinfecting and flushing of the new pipes, transferring water service connections from old to new water mains, removing and replacing damaged concrete sidewalks and curbs and restoring areas disturbed during construction.

“We understand this will be an inconvenience for residents in the area,” says Paul Kite, Assistant Director of Water Utilities. “We appreciate their cooperation during this project.”
