The Recycle Center is also introducing their new Saturday Recycle Day, held on the second Saturday of every month in conjunction with Second Saturday downtown from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

“Shred Away the Tax Day Blues” will be the first Saturday Recycle Day held on April 10th. Everyone is encouraged to bring unused papers and other documents for shredding.

“We invite everyone to join us for the first Saturday Recycle Day,” says Brocke Lively, Solid Waste Superintendent. “During tax season, declutter the stress of tax days by decluttering old papers - we will shred them for you.”

Furthermore, the Recycle Center staff would like to partner with community groups, clubs or organizations in educating the community about recycling efforts including tours, demonstrations, specific recycling events, distributing recycling materials or participating in the Second Saturday Recycling Day.

“We are working to revitalize our recycle program,” says Lively, “Working with organizations on Saturday Recycle Day or offering tours and other opportunities are two of the many ways we look forward to working with the community.”
