The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) conducts criminal investigations and more, including missing person and runaway cases, lost and found property, Crimestoppers support, public programs, and presentations.
Criminal investigations may involve drug and narcotic activity, financial crimes, domestic violence cases, gang activity, property crimes, and crimes against persons.
CID also serves and protects the health, safety, and welfare of the public by enforcing laws governing public morals, public order, and decency. Investigators may work closely with other law enforcement agencies to solve crimes and work towards the truth. Detectives build cases against criminal suspects by interviewing witnesses, obtaining written statements, collecting corroborating evidence, preparing detailed case reports and testifying in court when needed.
