The City of Plainview Mayor Charles Starnes presented a proclamation to Plainview ISD and Plainview Classical Academy teachers proclaiming October 5th as World Teachers’ Day in Plainview.
The proclamation states “Plainview’s future strength depends on providing a high-quality education to all students, teacher quality matters more to student achievement than any other school-related factor and our community recognizes and supports its teachers in educating the children of this community.”
October 5th is recognized by UNESCO as World Teachers’ Day and is a day to celebrate how teachers are transforming education but also to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent and vocation, and to rethink the way ahead for the profession globally.
