The Plainview-Hale Co. Health Department urges residents, especially those at higher risk of serious flu complications, to get their annual flu shot. Vaccination remains the most effective way to reduce the spread of influenza and its potentially severe consequences.
It takes approximately two weeks after vaccination for the body to develop protective antibodies, so early vaccination is key as flu season approaches.
Flu shots are currently available at the Plainview-Hale Co. Health Department and community members are encouraged to come in and get vaccinated.
