  • If you think you may need to give up your pet because of your circumstances or due to an issue with the animal, please consider the decision carefully as you will no longer retain any ownership rights to the animal.

  • Yes! We have just launched our spay/neuter pet program in partnership with Animal Clinic of Plainview and Furry Freight. Applications can be picked up from the Plainview Animal Shelter at 500 SW 3rd st. Restrictions apply, and the program is only available to individuals who live within the city limits of Plainview. Contact us for more information.

  • If you have lost your pet, we recommend that you come to the shelter and search for your animal. If an animal turned in to the shelter has identification, we will try to locate the owner. However, only owners can correctly identify their animal.

  • No! We do not charge for microchipping a pet, and all animals adopted through us come with a microchip.

  • Microchips do not live-track the animals. Their purpose is to be scanned by a vet or animal shelter to be able to find the owner’s contact information if the pet is lost. This is why it is crucial to keep your contact information up to date.

  • Yes! We have traps available to loan out on a first-come come first-served basis. You will fill out an agreement to take care of the trap and ensure the animal is not left in it for an extended amount of time. Traps are only picked up Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm. We advise not setting traps outside of these hours unless otherwise instructed by an animal control officer.
