Convention & Visitors Bureau

The purpose of the Plainview Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is to market the entire City of Plainview and its attractions and businesses by:

  • Adhering to a proactive marketing plan that stresses exposure on regional, state, and national / international levels
  • Collaborating with tourism groups, state agencies, and state / national groups to bring tourists, retirees, post secondary students, sporting events, and new businesses to Plainview
  • Overseeing the marketing of the Plainview Civic Center, Plainview’s première meeting, convention, and dining venue, located at the city-owned Plainview Country Club

The Main Street Program promotes a vibrant and historic downtown where everyone will enjoy Plainview hospitality.

The Main Street Program will utilize public and private efforts to encourage investment; enhance cultural diversity; preserve the architectural integrity of historic downtown; develop tourism; and promote businesses.

Texas was one of the first states to incorporate a Main Street program and Plainview was one of the first five Main Street cities in Texas in 1981. Plainview joins more than 85 Main Street cities in Texas that work to promote and revitalize downtown.
